Tax free shopping, a refund of part of the VAT, is open to visitors who live outside the European Union. At Fidenza Village it is handled by two refund companies, Global Blue and Planet, with desks at The Concierge.
This guide follows the official process as the Village describes it. It is not tax or legal advice, and the rules can change: check the Village's tax free page and your refund operator before you travel.
The quick answer
You qualify if you live permanently outside the EU; UK visitors qualify, except those from Northern Ireland. Spend at least EUR 70.01 in one boutique on one day (receipts from the same boutique on the same day can be added together), show your passport at the till, and make sure each form has your name, address and passport number exactly as in your passport. Then claim a refund to your card at the Global Blue or Planet desk at The Concierge, or at customs when you leave the EU. The Village says you can save up to 13.5%.
Who can shop tax free at Fidenza Village?
Permanent residents of countries outside the EU, including visitors from the UK, except Northern Ireland. EU residents do not qualify.
The test, as the Village puts it, is being a permanent resident in a non-EU country, and you prove it with your passport. If you live in the EU, tax free is not open to you, but outlet prices and seasonal events still are; see the last section.
What is the minimum spend for tax free?
EUR 70.01 per boutique per day. Receipts from the same boutique on the same day can be added together; receipts from different boutiques, or from different days, cannot.

Your passport, or a scanned copy: under Italy's digital tax free system the boutique must see it when you pay. Ask for the tax free form before you pay.
Each form must carry your name exactly as it appears on your passport, your address and your passport number. Check them before you leave the boutique: a typo can make the form useless. Most participating boutiques work with Global Blue, including Prada, Valentino, Nike and Coach; the Village lists 14 with Planet, among them Armani, Dolce&Gabbana and Stella McCartney.
Where do you get the refund at Fidenza Village?
At the Global Blue and Planet kiosks in The Concierge, which refund to your credit card on the spot. You can also claim at customs when you leave the EU.
According to the Village, the kiosks can refund any tax free form, even for purchases made outside Fidenza Village. Ask the desk what, if anything, you still need to do when you leave the EU. To claim at the border instead, take your completed forms, receipts, passport and purchases to customs at your point of departure from the EU. One guest reports that the tax free machine was not working on their visit in 2023, so keep everything together in case you need the customs route.

The Village says you can save up to 13.5%. Treat it as a maximum: what you receive depends on what you buy and on the refund operator.
The refund operator shows the amount on the form or at the desk. Tax free comes on top of the outlet price you already paid, so on a EUR 500 bag, for example, the refund is worked out on that price, not on the original retail price.
Does tax free stack with the VIP card's extra 10%?
They are separate things: the VIP card that comes with the $11 Shopping Express booking cuts the price at the till in participating boutiques, while tax free refunds part of the VAT afterwards.
Ask the boutique whether the card applies to the item you want before you pay. One visitor reports that the 10% card was rarely accepted on top of other discounts. The Shopping Express on GetYourGuide ($11, rated 4.6 from 60 reviews) is the simplest way to get the card with the coach from Milan.

In 2025, Black Friday brought extra reductions of up to 50% from 21 November to 1 December; the 2026 dates were not published when we checked. Remember that 'up to 70%' off is a maximum, not the typical saving: read Fidenza Village brands before you plan a big spend.
